Bharatiya Janata Party's Model Town candidate Kapil Mishra on Saturday said that he has not violated any law over his 'India versus Pakistan' tweet.

"The Congress and the AAP are losing polls on ground so they want to fight it in police station, court and on paper. I haven't violated any law and  have spoken the truth," Mishra said against whom the Delhi Police on Friday lodged a first information report over his controversial tweet in which he likened the upcoming Assembly elections to an India versus Pakistan contest.

The FIR was filed following directions of the poll authorities.

It was lodged at the Model Town Police Station under Section 125 (promoting enmity between classes in connection with election) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, the sources said.

In his tweet on Thursday, Mishra, a former minister in the Arvind Kejriwal Cabinet, had likened the February 8 Delhi election to a contest between India and Pakistan, sparking a controversy.
