PM, HM have sent me here: Doval reassures Delhi

Hum akele nahin aaya hain, PM ke hukum se aayen hain, NSA Doval tells a woman assuring her that she would be safe. "People have a sense of unity among them, there is no enmity. A few criminals do things like this (spread violence), people are trying to isolate them. Police is here and doing its work. We're here as per the orders of the Home Minister and the Prime Minister. Inshallah yahan par bilkul aman hoga."

Violence had erupted in Delhi on Sunday evening after groups protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act and those supporting it indulged in stone-pelting at each other.

The confrontation soon turned communal and the violence spread to other areas of northeast Delhi including Chand Bagh, Mustafabad, Brijpuri, Shiv Vihar and Noor Ilahi on Monday and Tuesday in which at least 20 persons, including a police head constable, have died and over 200 have been injured.
