H Vasanthakumar is first MP to die of Covid

The Congress member of Parliament from Kanyakumari, H Vasanthakumar, passed away at 7 pm today after battling coronavirus.

The 70-year old politician was admitted to Apollo Hospitals in Chennai on August 10 with coronavirus infection

Vasanthakumar, a two-time MLA before he became a first-time MP in 2019, also founded the popular consumer goods retail chain Vasanth and Co, and the Tamil satellite channel Vasanth TV.
