Jairam to be chief whip in RS; Cong forms 10-member panel

UPDATE: Congress leader Jairam Ramesh has been appointed party's chief whip in Rajya Sabha, sources said.

The party has formed a group of 10 MPs (five each from Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha) to deal with issues relating to Parliament.

It includes party's leader and deputy leader in Rajya Sabha, chief whips in both Houses and two whips in Lok Sabha.

Senior party leaders Ahmed Patel and K C Venugopal are the other two members of the group, sources said. -- ANI/PTI
