Rs 10 lakh fine for Patanjali on Coronil claims

The Madras High Court has slapped Rs 10 lakh fine on Patanjali Ayurved limited and Divya Yog Mandir Trust.

Justice CV Kartikeyan passed an order today, making an "absolute stay" against trademarking 'Coronil' and imposed fine of Rs 10 lakh as the defendants in the case which are Pathanjali Ayurved Limited and Divya Yog Mandir Trust were "chasing further profits by exploiting the fear and panic among the general public by projecting a cure for coronavirus when actually their Coronil tablet is not a cure but rather an immunity booster for cold, cough and fever.
