Aaditya requests Mumbaikars to stay indoors

As heavy showers lashed Maharashtra's Mumbai and its neighbouring areas, a 'red' alert was issued for "extremely heavy" rainfall in the city. 

Maharashtra minister Aaditya Thackeray  in a tweet requested people to remain indoors. He tweeted, "Requesting all to remain indoors. Mumbai is lashed with high velocity winds and extremely heavy rain as we all can witness. I request all, especially journalists trying to cover this to remain safe. Stay put wherever you are."

The heavy rain also forced the Central Railway to suspend services on its harbour line between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus- Vashi and on Mainline between CSMT-Thane. 

Meanwhil, Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray also held a meeting to review the situation. He has instructed the officials to be alert and prepared as India Meteorological Department has forecasted heavy rainfall tomorrow.
