Heavy rain alert in Mumbai from Sept 19-21

Heavy rainfall today and extremely heavy rainfall warning in Mumbai city and suburbs for the next 24 hours issued by IMD. The BMC has requested Mumbaikars to avoid venturing around the sea and into water-logged areas. "Please take care and be careful. For any assistance #Dial1916," the BMC tweet says.

In fact, the India Meteorological Department had issued a red alert yesterday for a heavy rainfall from 19 to 21 September in Mumbai and suburban Thane, Palghar and Raigad districts.
