NCP leader Ajit Pawar takes oath in Maharashtra assembly. 

A day before he resigned as the deputy chief minister from the Devendra Fadnavis government.

On Wednesday at 8 am, all 288 MLAs of Maharashtra have begun taking oath in a special assembly session called by Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari, less than 24 hours after the BJP's Devendra Fadnavis resigned as Chief Minister and the NCP's Ajit Pawar as his deputy.

Interim Speaker Kalidas Kolambkar is overseeing the oath ceremony.

Ahead of the oath ceremony, Supriya Sule and Ajit Pawar, shared a tender moment outside the assembly, where Sule welcomed Jr Pawar with a hug. 

She also said, "I have never had a rift with Dada (Ajit Pawar). Everyone has a role in the party. It is their duty to carry the party forward."
