Gotabaya Rajapaksa to visit India on Nov 29

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar today met newly-elected Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa in Colombo.

"A warm meeting with Sri Lanka President @GotabayaR. Conveyed PM @narendramodis message of a partnership for shared peace, progress, prosperity & security. Confident that under his leadership, #IndiaSriLanka relations would reach greater heights," Jaishankar tweeted with picture of him meeting with Rajapaksa.

The EAM also said that Rajapaksa has accepted PM Modi's invitation to visit India on November 29.

Jaishankar arrived in Sri Lanka on an unannounced visit on Tuesday evening, Colombo Gazette newspaper reported.
