Modi, Shah's victory lap at BJP HQ

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrives at the BJP headquarters in Delhi to a shower of rose petals by party workers beside themselves with excitement as they chant, 'Modi, Modi, Modi'.


Amit Shah, the man who is as much behind the BJP's spectacular win in the Lok Sabha polls, it is believed was waiting for the PM on the main road with an umbrella as its been raining in Delhi. 


Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj, Shivraj Chouhan with Modi on dais. JP Nadda, Thawar Chand Gehlot also there. 


The PM and Amit Shah garland busts of the founders of the party -- Deen Dayal Upadhaya and Shyama Prasad Mukherjee. 

The PM is expected to address party workers any time now. 


Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the BJP towards a super-sized victory for a second term in office, as his message of nationalism, security, Hindu pride and a New India was wholeheartedly embraced by voters across large swathes of the country. 


With the elections establishing the 68-year-old Modi as the most popular leader in decades, the partial vote count released by the Election Commission showed that BJP will surpass its 2014 performance. The BJP tally (total) is 302, leading (253), won (49).
