In Rahul's second constituency Wayanad, this woman ensured he was heard and understood. When Rahul addressed a rally there on Tuesday, Jyothi Radhika Vijayakumar, was at hand to ensure nothing was lost in translation. With Wayanad going to the polls today, she tweeted a picture standing tall with her son, writing, "Every time u vote there is a sense of empowerment..With my little one after voting..."

Yesterday, she tweeted her gratitude for getting the opportunity to translate Rahul Gandhi's speeches. She wrote, "Grateful and privileged to have translated Rahulji's three speeches during his visit to Kerala. Thank you Rahulji for the warmth and those moments on stage that would stay with me forever. Thank you the leadership for the opportunity. @RahulGandhi."

That tweet was followed up with a selfie with Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, which said she would cherish forever.

A News Minute report says that Jyothi is a junior lawyer and a teacher of sociology at the Kerala Civil Service Academy and a former journalist and TV anchor.  She is also the daughter of a Congressman from Chengannur, Adv D Vijayakumar, which explains the Congress connection.

In 2011, the News Minute report says, she told her dad she could help if the Congress party needed a translator. That year, when Rahul Gandhi came to Kerala, Jyothi would do her first translation of his speech. She has translated Sonia Gandhi's speeches as well during various visits in Kerala.
