Cash haul: No polling in Vellore on April 18

JUST IN: Election Commission says that accepting its recommendation dated April 14, 2019, President has rescinded the election to Vellore parliamentary constituency in Tamil Nadu.

The EC decided to cancel the Lok Sabha election in Vellore scheduled for April 18 after a large sum of cash was allegedly seized from a Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate's office a few days ago, NDTV reported quoting sources.

"A recommendation to cancel Lok Sabha polling in Vellore has been sent to the President," the report quoted sources as saying. -- with ANI inputs
