Indo-US bilateral meet begins

United States Secretary of Defense James Mattis and Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman hold a bilateral meeting in Delhi. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Mattis arrived in Delhi on Wednesday, for the much-awaited two-plus-two dialogue with External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Nirmala Sitharaman to be held today.
The two countries will aim to solidify their global strategic partnership in the dialogue, with a focus on significantly boosting military ties. The two sides will also seek to finalise a pact on encrypted defence technologies, deliberate on ways to boost counter-terror cooperation and try to resolve tariff-related issues.
