Anil Couto, Archbishop of Delhi, reacts to the uproar on his letter asking priests to pray for the country ahead of the 2019 polls. "What else will I talk? Elections and govt concern us. We have to have a govt that cares for freedom of people, rights and welfare of the Christian community. I'm not meddling in partisan politics. We're just praying that the nation should walk in the right direction.

"In all churches and institutions we pray and fast. We pray for our own renewal and that of the country. Keeping in mind all that's happening in our country we said that we look forward to the next elections and the next govt. Every govt should protect people and the Constitution."
