SC hearing on Congress-JD(S) plea against Karnataka governor's order:

Attorney General K K Venugopal also reaches SC.

Former A-G Mukul Rohatgi representing the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Singhvi argues for the Congress-JD(S), "Court may pass an order declaring order of Governor inviting B S Yeddyurappa to form the government as unconstitutional and quash the same, or, pass direction to the governor to invite alliance of Congress and JD-S which has support of more than 112 MLAs to form the government."

Rohatgi said earlier, "The governor has discretion to call largest party and he has done so. If the single largest party won't be able to form the government, other party will be called. In case of Goa elections, single largest party Congress had not presented its side, that's the difference."  -- with ANI inputs
