Following the attack on Swami Agnivesh, the Congress raised the issue of mob lynching in Lok Sabha. They demanded an answer from Home Minister Rajnath Singh on the issue:

>> Social media being used to spread fake news and rumours is also a reason. We have asked social sites for regulation

>> Public order is a state subject. Such incidents are unfortunate, I have spoken to the chief ministers personally to ensure the perpetrators are arrested.
