Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia today held a meeting with Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal to discuss the way forward after the Supreme Court verdict, in the light of a fresh impasse with the bureaucrats over the control of services.

The bureaucrats contend that the Supreme Court has not cancelled the government order that brought services under the control of the Lieutenant Governor.

Citing the court order, which said the Lieutenant Governor has control only over land, police and public order, Kejriwal has warned that anyone violating it will stand in contempt of court.

After the meeting, the Lieutenant Governor tweeted, "Met Hon'ble CM @ArvindKejriwal & Hon'ble Dy. CM @msisodia . Assured them of my continued support & cooperation in the interest of good governance & overall development of Delhi as per the letter and spirit of Constitution."

Replying to Baijal's tweet, Kejriwal said, "Thank you sir. All of us should work together for the development of Delhi. Constitution is supreme. Orders of SC become the law of the land. They must be respected."
