Bar council forms 7-member panel to resolve rift within judiciary

A day after the Supreme Court judges mounted a virtual revolt against the country's chief justice in an unprecedented press conference, the Bar Council of India today form a seven-member team to meet all SC judges from tomorrow to resolve the issue peacefully.

"We have unanimously decided to form a seven-member delegation of the council who will meet Honourable Judges of the Supreme Court. We want that the matter be solved at the earliest," Manan Kumar Mishra, Chairman of Bar Council of India said at a press conference.

He said it is a family dispute and they will resolve the matter soon.

"As far as MOP is concerned, it must be finalised at the earliest in a proper manner. We will write a letter to the government for the same but is not that big a matter to be brought in public," he added.

Mishra also appealed political parties not to politicise the matter.
