Launching a scathing attack on the Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party tonight said that Congress President Rahul Gandhi is playing politics over the Supreme Court issue.
"Rahul Gandhi is playing politics over the Supreme Court issue while it's an internal matter of the apex court. The Congress is finding opportunities at the place where it should not," BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said.
"In the country, judiciary plays an independent role and the AG has given his statement...Simply can't drag judiciary into politics and the issue which is pending in the SC should not be discussed in public," he said.
He further adds, "No politics should be played at all. We are surprised and pained that Congress, which has been rejected number of times by people in elections, is trying to gain political mileage and it has exposed itself."
Four senior judges of the Supreme Court on Friday virtually revolted against Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra, listing a string of problems that they said were afflicting the country's highest court, and warned those could destroy Indian democracy.
