And back in Mumbai: Metro services between Asalfa and Ghatkopar Metro station were briefly stopped by protesters. But after the police stepped in the situation was brought under control and services have resumed.

The Mumbai police, which has been tweeting at regular intervals on the situation on the streets says commuters are advised to avoid using the Western Express Highway and use SV Road instead. The police also advised commuters to avoid Kalanagar in Bandra and the MMRDA Junction for a while due to rasta roko.

The situation on the streets is dynamic and despite a largely calm city and suburbs, can change any moment. The stellar police bandobast has ensured that instances of violence are few and far between.
