After a 1.5 hour speech in the Lok Sabha, PM Modi holds forth in the Rajya Sabha. Highlights of his speech that is ongoing as we write this.

"You Congress does not need a new India, but the India of Emergency, Bofors and chopper scams.

"When a big tree falls and thousands of innocent Sikhs are killed, you remember these lines. Is this the India that Congress wants, PM asks Congress.

"We want Mahatma Gandhi's India as he had said there is no need of Congress now. Congress-mukt Bharat' is not Modi's idea, it is Gandhi's.

"You said we are Name Changers and not Game Changers but if you notice our mode of operation and working pattern you will realise we are Aim Changers. We plan our action, set the road map so that we take the nation on the path to development. I have always said that for the nation's development so far, all the previous govt's have made a contribution.

"You were speaking about Ayushman Bharat and gave the example of US and Britain, there is a vast difference between them and our society but of course being in power for more than 50 years you get cut off from the ground.

"We are always looking for suggestions, feedback and input on our schemes. After all, we are working for the nation and the poor. BJP ki burai karte karte aap Bharat ki burai karne lag jaate hain. Modi par hamla bolte bolte aap Hindustan par hamla bolne lag jaate hain."

To Congress MP Renuka Chowdhury laughing out loud during his speech in the Upper House, a smiling PM tells Speaker Venkaiah Naidu: "Please don't stop Renuka-ji. We're fortunate to hear this kind of laughter for the first time since Ramayana."
