Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao today met West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee to take forward their discussion on the formation of a non-Congress, non-Bharatiya Janata Party Federal Front.

The two had met earlier in March, when the Telangana chief minister came to Kolkata.

Rao has stepped up his campaign for a Federal Front following his landslide victory in assembly elections.

KCR on Sunday met his Odisha counterpart Naveen Patnaik and emphasised a "dire need" for unification of regional parties to provide an alternative to the Congress and the BJP ahead of the 2019 general elections.
