We ended policy paralysis of Congress govt: Jaitley

Rejecting opposition claims over slowing economy, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today said that the Narendra Modi-led government ended policy paralysis of the Congress government.

Here are the highlights:

- Government has not shied away from taking tough decisions unlike previous governments

- India is still the fastest growing economy despite global slowdown

- When India is at 70, there are always attempts to change the narrative itself: FM Jaitley

- I must confess that I do not have the luxury as yet of being a former finance minister nor do I have the luxury of being a former finance minister who has turned a columnist

- From 2003-2008, we grew with the global trend and then we slowed down

- This government ended policy paralysis of the Congress government

- Those who had pushed the country into policy paralysis, when they saw it coming, asked to postpone GST

- Demonetisation was to make sure that the anonymous tender which operated in market gets identified to its owner
