After former finance minister Yashwant Sinha created a stir with his Indian Express editorial on the economy of the country, Shatrughan Sinha has tweeted in support of Sinha, breaking away from other BJP leaders who slammed the senior leader.

On Thursday, Shatrughan took to Twitter and wrote, "Mr Yashwant Sinha is a true statesman and a tried and tested man of wisdom, who has proven himself as one of the best and most successful finance ministers of the country. He has shown the mirror on the economic condition of India and has hit the nail right on the head."

The veteran Bollywood actor then goes on to write that Sinha's 'utterances are are always very well thought through and must always be taken seriously'. "It would be childish to be dismissive of or to make light of his recent observations. Our elder brother must be appreciated and applauded for coming out with this," Shatrughan further wrote.

On Wednesday, Yashwant Sinha, the senior BJP leader, delivered a blistering criticism of Finance Minister Arun Jaitley over the state of the economy.

However, the government insisted that Indian economy is the fastest  growing in the world and some "uncertainty" is bound to occur when "transformative" measures like demonetisation and the GST are taken.

Even Yashwant Sinha's son, Jayant Sinha didn't seem to agree with his father's views, saying some "sweeping conclusions" were drawn from a "narrow set of facts", missing the "structural reforms" transforming the economy.
