BHU protests: Congress says Modi should apologise to girls who were lathi-charged

The violent Banaras Hindu University protests inside the campus have been criticised by the Congress as they have said that the prime minister should apologise to the girls, who were mercilessly lathi-charged by the cops.

"The PM should first apologise to the girls in BHU, because despite being there, he did not care to ask why the girls were protesting," Congress leader Mohan Prakash said.

He further asserted that the girls were just asking their right which was not difficult to adhere to.

"What were they even asking that was so difficult to do and then after that the way lathi charge took place, I have never seen it happen in any university," Congress leader said.
