Samajwadi Party patron Mulayam Singh Yadav has said that he will not form a new party for now.

Addressing a press conference in Lucknow on Monday, Mulayam said he has differences with his son and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.

"My blessings are with him (Akhilesh) as he is my son, though I don't agree with his decisions," Mulayam said, adding, "I am not forming any new party as of now."

Attacking the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance government, he said, "None of the promises made by the government were fulfilled in three years of its governance. Petrol-diesel prices skyrocketed."

He also expressed concern at the developments in Banaras Hindu University and said 'girls are not safe in BHU, there's no rule of law in UP'.  -- PTI, ANI
