Senior journalist K J Singh and his 92-year-old mother have been found dead at their residence in Mohali, police says.

Police suspects that they have been murdered.

Former deputy chief minister of Punjab Sukhbir Singh Badal tweeted, 'Just heard senior journalist KJ Singh has been murdered along with his mother.Condemn this killing and urge authorities to nab culprits imm (immediately).'

'I condemn ghastly murder of senior journalist KJ Singh and his mother at Mohali. Urge police to nab perpetrators imm,' he said in another tweet.

The Tribune reports that 'Singh's throat was found slit while his mother was strangled'.

The report also says that his house was ransacked and several valuables, including Singh's car, are missing.

Singh, in his late sixties, had worked with The Tribune, The Indian Express and The Times of India.
