CEA Arvind Subramanian gets 1-year extension

Chief Economic Adviser to Government of India Arvind Subramanian gets one-year extension.

Subramanian's three-year tenure was to end on October 16.

Speculations were rife about whether Subramanian will get an extension or not, while it was also reported that NITI Aayog member Bibek Debory may take over as the CEA.

There were also reports of Subramanian's resignation which the finance ministry had rejected. -- ANI
