DAVP takes action against 52 newspapers
September 14, 2017  16:43
Following the Press Council's censure of various publications, for reasons ranging from 'paid news' to 'irresponsible, mala fide reporting', the Directorate of Audio Visual Publicity has decided to take action against 52 publications.

Accordingly, those that have been empanelled with it have been suspended for two months, while others that are not empanelled with the DAVP will not be eligible for the same for two months.

Among the publications are Times of India (reason: aggrieved by a news item and not willing to admit mistake), Dinakaran (for paid news), and Dainik Jagran (cast severe insinuation against complainant and no justification for publication of impugned news item).
