An AIADMK meeting has been called to sack its jailed leader VK Sasikala today.

Yesterday, the Madras High Court had dismissed a petition by Sasikala loyalist asking that it put a stop to today's General Council meeting.

MLA V Vetrivel, who filed the petition, has been fined Rs 1 lakh for wasting the court's time.

However, any decision taken today is conditional. The decision will be subject to what the court says in the matter, which will be announced in the next hearing on October 23.

A united AIADMK led by Chief Minister E Palaniswami and his predecessor O Panneerselvam, said they would stick to the Madras High Court order.

The expulsion of Sasikala has been one of the key conditions of the merger by the faction led by Panneerselvam.
