Last month Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, turned 50.

And this month will see the release of his first book, Hit Refresh: The Quest to Rediscover Microsoft's Soul and Imagine a Better Future for Everyone, that is published under the imprint Harper Business.

Incidentally, HarperCollins India celebrates its 25th anniversary this year.

The book, releasing on September 26, has a foreword by Bill Gates wherein he says, 'With every new technology, there are challenges. How do we help people whose jobs are replaced by AI agents and robots? Will users trust their AI agent with all their information? If an agent could advise you on your work style, would you want it to? That is what makes books like Hit Refresh so valuable.'

A release from HarperCollins describes the book as the Microsoft CEO telling 'the inside story of the company's continuing transformation, tracing his own personal journey from a childhood in India to leading some of the most significant technological changes in the digital era and offering his vision for the coming wave of intelligent technologies.'

'Ideas excite me, says Nadella, 'Empathy grounds and centres me.' And at its core, his book is about humans and how one of our essential qualities -- empathy -- will become ever more valuable in a world where technological advancement will alter the status quo as never before.

A series of recommendations presented as algorithms, the release says, Hit Refresh is an astute contemplation of what lies ahead from a conscientious, deliberative leader searching for improvement -- for himself, for a storied company, and for society.

Needless to add, we can't wait to get our hands on it.
