When Venkaiah Naidu travels so does the governor

As Vice President, M Venkaiah Naidu has to travel often, zigzagging across India. In fact, Naidu has been notching up travel miles from the time he was BJP president to the last portfolio he held as urban development minister. Naidu does not stay overnight anywhere. He hops from one airport to another at least three times a day by the special aircraft he is now entitled to use.

Naidu has a habit of touching down in many cities in Andhra Pradesh when he goes to south India, which has put most of the governors there in a tight spot.

For example, Naidu recently visited Mumbai and Chennai. Protocol demands that the governor should receive the vice president on the tarmac at the airport. So Vidyasagar Rao had a unique problem since he is governor of both Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra. The problem was solved with Rao travelling with Naidu from Mumbai to Chennai. At Chennai, he got off the plane first and received Naidu on the tarmac. Another governor who has to receive Naidu almost every week is ESL Narasimhan, the Governor of Andhra Pradesh. Naidu visits Vijayawada, Vizag, Guntur regularly to attend social engagements.
