William and Kate expecting third child

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Kate, are expecting their third child, Kensington Palace announced today.

The press release said the Queen and both the families were "delighted with the news".

The announcement said the duchess would not be carrying out royal engagements as she is suffering from from hyperemesis gravidarum, or severe morning sickness, which she also had during her first two pregnancies.

Catherine is being cared for at Kensington Palace, the statement said.

The royal couple have one son, George, and one daughter, Charlotte.
