Model code of conduct comes into force in Gujarat: CEC AK Joti

Chief Election Commissioner AK Joti will shortly announce the dates for the Gujarat assembly elections.
- The model code of conduct shall be in place immediately; elaborate arrangements made to enforce MCC guidelines
- The height voting compartment will be increased to maintain secrecy
- A total of 50,128 polling centers have been set up in the state
- The voters will be able to see whom they have voted via VVPAT machine
- CCTVs will be installed at critical polling booths and at border checkposts during the election
- Slips on VVPATS will also be counted on some polling booths as a pilot project
- Differently-abled voters will be given preference at polling stations
