PM reaches Gurez Sector to celebrate Diwali with jawans

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached the Gurez Sector in Jammu and Kashmir to celebrate Diwali with jawans.

Earlier, Modi greeted the nation through a Twitter post.

"Hearty wishes to the people of India on the auspicious occasion of Diwali", read the tweet.

Every Diwali the prime minister visits border posts to celebrate the festival of lights with jawans.

In 2014, he celebrated Diwali with security forces at Siachen while in 2015, the PM celebrated Diwali with jawans in Amritsar at Dogra war memorial.

In 2016, the prime minister celebrated Diwali with Indo-Tibetan Border Police jawans in Himachal Pradesh.
