BJP has served Nehru's vision of India better than Congress: PM

Tearing into the Congress in poll-bound Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that the Grand old Party has always given secondary treatment to Gujarat.

Addressing the party workers, Modi said that the BJP has served Nehru's vision of India better than the Congress.

In his speech, he also praised BJP chief Amit Shah for winning several elections for the party.

Here are some highlights of his speech:

- The Congress has insulted heroes who served the nation. The Congress has never focused on service

- The (Congress) party that gave so many leaders to the nation now focus only on spreading lies. They create an atmosphere of pessimism

- The BJP has served Nehru's vision of India better than Congress

- Gujarat has always been a thorn in the eyes for that family. The Congress insulted India's heroes, ill treated Sardar Vallabhai Patel and Morarji Desai

- When results of UP during Lok Sabha elections stunned nation, I had said the 'man of the match' is Amit Shah

- Completion of projects is not Congress party's nature, we are working on projects initiated 40 years ago.
