Loco pilot killed after truck hits DMU at unmanned crossing

A concrete mixer truck hit a Diesel Multiple Unit train at an an unmanned crossing in Fazilka today killing the locomotive pilot, police said.

The train was going to Fazilka from Ferozepur this morning when the truck hit it near Ladhuka village, Government Railway Police officials said.

Witnesses said that the collision was so strong that the huge mixer got stuck in the train resulting in the death of Vikas Kaypee, the loco pilot.

A case has been registered against the driver of the concrete mixer. Police said the driver is absconding. -- PTI
