People hid in a McDonald's freezer to escape Las Vegas gunman

The worst mass shooting in modern American history has taken place in Las Vegas, killing 50 people and wounding over 200.

Survivor's accounts are already being posted online, including one story about taking cover in the freezer of a McDonald's restaurant.

Marie-Sophie, a blogger from Germany, tweeted in the early hours of the morning to say she and others had hidden inside the freezer of a McDonald's.

"The day fast food saved my life. Scariest night ever. Forever thankful to the Mc Donalds Manager who locked us in her freezer," she wrote.

According to her Instagram, Marie-Sophie was seeing the sights around Nevada, before heading to Las Vegas.

She and friends had been taking part in a road trip across the United States.
