Prime Minister Narendra Modi today will hold bilateral meeting with United States President Donald Trump on the sidelines of 31st ASEAN summit in Manila, Philippines.

Modi and Trump, who met briefly at a gala dinner on Sunday, would discuss counter-terrorism, trade and the security situation in the Indo-Pacific region, where China has been expanding its military presence

Issues related to South China Sea, North Koreas nuclear missile tests and the overall security architecture in the region will come up for discussion during the ASEAN summit on Tuesday, diplomats said.

On the sidelines of the main events, Modi is also likely to have a series of other bilateral meetings with his counterparts of Japan and Australia, Shinzo Abe and Malcolm Turnbull.

On Tuesday, Modi will attend the ASEAN-India and East Asia summits where he is likely to reassert India's push for crafting a global approach to deal with growing challenge of terrorism and radicalisation besides pitching for steps to boost regional trade.
Modi will also hold bilateral meetings with Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte today.
