After the distributors in Rajasthan refused to buy the rights of Sanjay Leela Bhansalis Padmavati in the wake of trouble from various Rajput groups, fringe outfit Rajput Karni Sena now seeks a complete ban on the film.

"Sanjay Leela Bhansali should be charged with sedition. He hasn't met us, hasn't shown us the film. So now we want a complete ban on it, the Sena said.

Bhansali on Wednesday released a video statement on the film's official Twitter account calling the Deepika Padukone-Shahid Kapoor-Ranveer Singh starrer his tribute to the "sacrifice, valour and honour" of Rani Padmavati.
Bhansali said rumours about a romantic dream sequence between Rani Padmavati and Alauddin Khil.

Padmavati has been mired in controversies ever since its initial announcement was made.
Various Rajput groups have accused the director of distorting historical facts.
