A suitable governor for J-K

As NN Vohra takes over as president of the Tribune Trust which publishes The Tribune newspaper, a search is on for a suitable candidate as Jammu and Kashmir governor.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has discussed prospective candidates with with J-K Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.

Modi's choice will offer an insight about the PM's thinking on J-K and will be a message for Pakistan, a source in the Prime Minister's Office said.

PMO insiders also say the new J-K governor could be a politician or a retired bureaucrat.
