That the prime minister is a master politician is well known, but the manner in which he handled the sensitive issues between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, deserves a mention.

Each have diametrically different policies, programmes and ideologies and it is to the PM's credit that he can handle both states with elan.

For this, Modi uses the services of ESL Narasimhan who is the governor of both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, to settle the differences between the two. He also gets political intelligence through Narasimhan.

That is the prime reason he has retained the UPA nominee over the last three years in a crucial state like Telangana.

Narasimhan was Intelligence Bureau chief and therefore knows how best to bring the two warring chief Ministers -- KCR and Chandrababu Naidu -- to the meeting table.

While Modi has met the two chief ministers, political machinations are handled by Amit Shah and the administrative details by Governor ESL Narasimhan.

Our sources tell us that Telangana Rashtriya Samiti Chief K Chandrasekhar Rao was really rattled with the aggressive posturing  and the media coverage of the BJP Chief's visit to the state.
