Manchester's Arndale shopping centre reopens

The Arndale Centre in Manchester has reopened after armed police told shoppers to leave the area.The evacuation led to scenes of panic with people running out of the shopping centre, reports the BBC.

People are now returning to shops and police have lifted an extended cordon in the area. An ambulance was seen leaving from inside but it is not known why it was attending.
