BREAKING: International Court of Justice has stayed Kulbhushan Jadhav's hanging in Pakistan.

The ICJ has sent a letter to Nawaz Sharif government, staying Jadhav's hanging.

A Pakistan military court had sentenced Jadhav to death after he was convicted of espionage and sabotage activities, prompting India to warn Islamabad that it is a case of premeditated murder.

Last month, India had handed over an appeal by Jadhav's mother to Pakistan, initiating a process to get his conviction overturned.

India made several requests for consular access to Jadhav, but Pakistan rejected any chance of granting consular access to the former Indian Navy officer.
