Anna Hazare hints at relaunching agitation for Lokpal

Anti-graft crusader Anna Hazare hinted at starting another mass agitation to protest against the Narendra Modi-led governments alleged apathy in failing to appoint the Lokpal even after three years in power.

The septuagenarian crusader said he would shortly announce the date of his proposed agitation in a letter to be sent soon to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He said his decision to begin the agitation has been conveyed to Modi in a letter sent on Tuesday. However, Hazare, who has withdrawn or cancelled proposed agitations against the Modi government in the past, remained nebulous on the proposed date of the agitation.

I was silent for three years but time has come to relaunch the agitation against corruption. The non-implementation of the Lokpal is a great insult to the sentiment of the people, Hazare said, lambasting the Modi government.
