37 world leaders have greeted Modi on UP election win

US President Donald Trump congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Uttar Pradesh victory was the main topic of discussion among MEA's senior joint secretaries over their RAX internal communication system on Tuesday.

And they can't be blamed for it, for even ambassadors and high commissioners posted to the nations handled by these senior secretaries have been effusive about the UP election win in their cables to the headquarters and the wipeout suffered by the Congress party and its leader Rahul Gandhi.

South Block has so far received 37 messages from world leaders hailing Modi on the UP electoral victory, leading a senior joint secretary to remark wryly that never before has he experienced such hype and build-up for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
