Kapil Sibal @KapilSibal says it for all of us. "Sad that Tunda kebabs cannot be savoured after 70 years . Essential part of our diverse culture . Enemies of our heritage have taken over."

A must-visit in Lucknow, the 112-year-old Tunday Kababi, was shut for two days after the UP government ordered a crackdown on illegal meat shops and slaughterhouses.

The owners had to shut shop because of a scarcity of buffalo meat in the state capital, which had its four slaughterhouses sealed between 2013 and 2015.  Cow slaughter is banned in India.

It reopened late Thursday evening, but its menu did not include the famous "badey ka kabab' or buffalo meat kebabs. Instead, the restaurant served chicken and mutton kebabs.
