Two Lashkar militants and a civilian have been killed in an encounter in Awantipora area of Pulwama district in Kashmir, say officials. CNN News 18 reports that the civilian died in clashes between villagers and security forces even as the encounter rages on.

One Lashkar terrorist, Ganai, was killed in an encounter in Padgampora village area in south Kashmir's Pulwama district, this morning, while the other terrorist was killed hours later.


The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) confirmed the deaths, but says there is unconfirmed presence of four-five terrorists in the area. The security forces in Jammu and Kashmir have launched a cordon and search operation in the Padgampora area after they suspected the presence of terrorists in the area.
