Kharge set to head Public Accounts Committee

Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Mallikarjuna Kharge, is set to be appointed as Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, according to sources close to the Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan. It's a slot open to the principal opposition party only. For the past three years, Prof K V Thomas was holding this post. Kharge's tenure will be from April 2017 to April 2018 and the position entitles him to a car, personal assistant and free travel to anywhere in the country with PAC members.
