Debates, discussions, statements and remarks on Gurmehar Kaur's 'anti-national' Facebook video draws to a close. Almost. A couple of statements from Finance minister Arun Jaitley and Defence minister Manohar Parrikar today...

Arun Jaitley said today, "Nationalism is a good word, ye toh kewal iss desh mein hai ki rashtravad bura shabd hai. It's only in this country that nationalism is a bad word."

While Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar said,  "I support freedom of expression within legal restrictions."

CPI-M leader Sitaram Yechury responded asking, "What defines legal restrictions of the Defence Minister? His whims and fancies? Restrictions are defined by our constitution."

Twenty-year-old Gurmehar Kaur has been in the spotlight over the last few days, after raising her voice against violence on campuses in the wake of clashes in Ramjas College last week. Kaur has been advocating peace from endorsing stronger Indo-Pak ties to free speech among youth for nearly a year now.
